Dear society members,

The official journal of the Japanese Society of Neuropsychopharmacology (JSNP) was formerly known as “the Japanese Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology” (indexed by Medline). In 2018, the journal was reborn as an Open Access journal, “Neuropsychopharmacology Reports (NPPR)”. The aim of our society journal is to contribute steady and quick progress in science and conquest of mental and neurological disorders. To pursue the goal, we make various attempts:

NPPR publishes articles on all aspects of neuropsychopharmacology and its related fields in the following categories: “Review Articles”, “Original Articles”, “Micro Reports”, and “Case Reports”. The new category “Micro Report” do not necessarily require Introduction or Discussion subheadings (regarding Micro Report, see Editor in Chief’s blog: https://blogs.biomedcentral.com/bmcblog/2018/07/06/data-sitting-on-the-shelf-publish-it-as-micro-report/). We will soon introduce “Registered Report”, a new form of journal article, in which methods and proposed analyses are pre-registered and peer-reviewed prior to research being conducted (for details, see Center for Open Science website: https://cos.io/rr/). Other categories may be occasionally set for invited articles. Acceptance criteria are focused on scientific and ethical soundness of the research. Therefore, we welcome manuscripts showing negative data or confirming data reproducibility!

Society members of AsCNP are eligible for the discount on Article Publication Charge (APC). APCs for Case Reports and Micro Reports are set at relatively low costs (see the journal website for details: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/2574173x/homepage/article_publication_charges.htm). How can you get APC discount code? If you are a member of an affiliated society (IABPP, JSCNP, JSNP, KCNP, NST, PCPsych, PSS NP section, or TSBPN), please contact the society office for the code. If you are an individual member, the code should be listed on your invoice for membership fee.

Articles are immediately freely available to read, share and download. As of January 2019, average duration from submission to first decision is 24.5 days.

Submit your paper as it is! No need to reformat if submitting again from another journal. Reformatting is required after acceptance.
